Find something you really care about

Owning your own business is really hard work. Most people only think of the joy and financial freedom it gives--and that's true--but they don't think about how hard they will have to work to succeed. That's why it's so important to decide what really excites you. If you are going to be putting all of your efforts to one effort, you will want that task to be something you really care about.

Your passion becomes your purpose

Studies show that you are more likely to commit to a cause that is close to your heart. So it makes sound business sense to discover what that cause really is. If you are enjoying your work and feel like you are doing the right thing, you will stick with it and make it successful.

What makes you happy?

Before embarking on any new career, ask yourself the following:

• What are my values? For example, do I value helping others? Do I value being able to express by creativity? What would make me happy about getting out of bed in the morning?
• If I could do just one thing in this life, what would it be?
• Do I want to spend more time with my family?
• Why do I want to work from home?

These questions should help you narrow down start your own business ideas through a core set of values. These values will help you to find your passion in life--which in turn should help you find your home based business venture.
